A team of high-flyers plan to win a worldwide ‘flying off the end of a pier’ contest with their giant ‘Kes’.
Paul Woodcock, of Darton, will lead a team at the event in Leeds next month.
“Being from Barnsley we’re going to do our own take on Kes, so we’re going to build a giant kestrel,” said Paul, 37.
“There’s going to be about 25,000 people there.”
Team ‘Come on Kes’ have already beaten off competition from hundreds to be accepted for a place in the final, which will be held at Roundhay Park in Leeds on July 17.
