A NEW book created by a Barnsley woman will be given to each local primary school.
Emma Turton, who works at Compass Be, created the book ‘The Sun Can’t Shine Every Day’ as a therapeutic story for a child she was working with.
The book highlights how it isn’t possible for someone to smile every day, and after finally receiving some funding it will be rolled out across the borough.
The 46-year-old told the Chronicle: “The story features in the workshop currently as a vocal recording that the children close their eyes, listen to and discuss afterwards.
“Both children and school staff have been requesting illustrations to this since the workshops began, so the journey to finding funding and making it happen began and is now a reality and ensures we are using children and teacher voice to develop our workshop packages.
“The book is about getting children to explore how we can’t be happy all the time.
“It’ll be read in all our workshops and it’s going to be given out to schools in a borough-wide scheme.”
