YOUNG Isabella Glossop was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at just two weeks old - but she’s not let it hold her back and her mum says she’s a ‘bundle of joy’.

Despite being diagnosed with the condition early in her life, you’d never know that the three-year-old from Royston was poorly.

Cystic fibrosis is a rare inherited genetic condition that causes breathing and digestive problems.

There is currently no cure, but there are medicines and supportive treatments that can help.

It affects more than 10,800 people in the UK.

Her mum, 40-year-old Samantha Brown, says her daughter is a little superstar.

She said: “She was diagnosed when she was just two weeks old - she’s three now.

“She has physio sessions twice a day and she also has a lot of medication.

“She knows what she’s got so she’s aware of the condition - she says that she’s got poorly lungs.

‘But she copes really, really well.

“She’s a bundle of joy.

“You wouldn’t know if you looked at her that she had cystic fibrosis.

“She’s really happy and healthy but it’s what happens on the inside.”

Samantha admits that it is hard for Isabella at times - but she always manages to push through.

“It is hard sometimes,” she added.

“She has a lot of blood tests and there are obviously some side effects from the medication she takes.

“She does go through it but she does it all.”

Isabella has now been nominated for a Young Champions award - and her mum says she couldn’t be prouder of her daughter.

“She’s so brave,” Samantha added.

“I’m just so proud.”

And Samantha is going to have to be brave herself later this month when she takes to the sky to complete a tandem skydive in honour of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

“I want to be able to raise as much awareness for the condition as possible.

“You don’t hear a lot about the condition and people aren’t really aware of what it is.

“We want to say a massive thank you to the charity for all that they’ve done.”

She’s already raised over £1,000 - but she admits she’s nervous to jump from the plane on May 25.

“I’ve never done anything like this before,” she added.

“I’m absolutely dreading it.

“I’ve raised £1,046 so far which is great because it’s a charity close to our hearts.

“People either know that or they hate me and want to watch me jump out of a plane.”
