DOROTHY Foulstone celebrated her 100th birthday on Sunday surrounded by her friends and family.

She was born in Wilthorpe on May 25, 1925 and has seen 25 Prime Ministers come and go in that time.

She’s also seen five monarchs at the helm, and received a birthday card from King Charles on Sunday.

She said she was very proud to receive that card.

The centenarian celebrated her 100th birthday at Park House Residential Home in Worsbrough.

Dorothy spent a large portion of her working life working as a shop assistant at Foulstone’s on the Arcade.

Asked about what the secret to a long life is, she said: “You’ve just got to keep going.

“If something does go wrong then you’ve just got to wait until it turns right again.”
