These girls know how to handle a sword...
The year-six pupils at Shawlands Primary, Shaw Street, Barnsley, have become the national rapper dancing champions.
The Shawland Hillbillies competed at the Dancing England Rapper Tournament in London and scooped the top prize.
Teacher Fiona Taylor, who is involved in the folk band The Demon Barbers, trained the girls in the art of the traditional sword dance."It's based on two sets of skills, the way they move the swords and the noise they make with their feet like with tap-dancing," she said.
"It's my involvement with the folk scene which has led to it really.
"Since September most of them have been involved in the clog dancing club which is similar. Then after Christmas they started with the swords. They are really good and did us proud at the competition."
