Police officers were put on the buses throughout May to check for forged bus passes, fare dodgers and target yobs.
PCSOs and special constables boarded 34 buses travelling from Goldthorpe to Barnsley, over two days early in the month.
A force spokesman said they checked for 'bus pass irregularities and fare evasion'.
"PCSOs were on hand to reassure travellers, identify potential offenders and prevent antisocial behaviour. Five passengers were detained after being in possession of forged weekly bus passes."
Over the rest of the month 'Trojan' bus was used to catch yobs unawares. It looks like a service bus and patrolled bus routes and the interchange in Barnsley with specials on board.
During the operations, officers seized alcohol from youths, while others were dealt with for antisocial behaviour - including youngsters throwing water balloons at motorists. Officers also helped with a search for youths causing damage to an air cadet centre.
Sergeant Wayne Vernon said: “Officers, PCSOs and special constables regularly patrol passenger transport routes to reassure passengers and tackle crime and antisocial behaviour.
“During May, Over 100 hours of policing was dedicated to patrolling the routes tackling a range of problems including drug-related offences, underage drinking and ticket fraud. In addition officers give a highly visible and reassuring presence.”
