BARNSLEY Woolley Miners were sucked further towards the Yorkshire Premier South relegation battle this week.
The Shaw Laners – after being beaten by fellow strugglers Hallam – are ninth, 14 points clear of the relegation zone having lost their last four matches.
They now host second-placed Sheffield Collegiate, with seven games left in total.
Captain Boeta Beukes said: “It was a tough one to take, getting no points against a team in the relegation battle with us.
“It was very disappointing and it’s brought a lot of teams closer to us now.
“The form is worrying and always in the back of your head.
“We will regroup, chat about everything and hopefully have a turning point.
“We have another tough fixture against Sheffield Collegiate.
“But we beat Wakefield Thornes who are top so you never know what can happen.
“It’s just trying to get that one win which could turn it around.
“Losing to Shiregreen and Hallam, who are both down there, is not what we wanted but we have to keep going.
“All the lads know it could be really tight and go down to the end of the season. But we have to put more effort in and more work in to hopefully have a relaxing last few games.”
