MARC Roberts is set to miss the next couple of months through injury.

The Reds centre-back was substituted before half-time in the 3-1 win away at Plymouth Argyle on Saturday.

Head coach Conor Hourihane confirmed that he is set to miss the next two months.

He said: “He will be out of action for the next couple of months off the back of the prognosis.

“It’s unfortunate, he had the news over the last couple of days.

“He’s a big part of the group and I still want him at the games and in and around the dressing room.”

He added that the Reds will be looking to bring in defensive cover, hopefully before Saturday’s game against Burton Albion at Oakwell.

Hourihane said: “There’s no getting away from it and there’s no point me sitting here and saying ‘we’re going to be ok’.

“We need a little bit of cover and a body to come in in that area.

“Whether that’s a centre-back or a right-back time will tell.”

The head coach also confirmed that both Fabio Jalo and Georgie Gent are still a couple of months away.
