BARNSLEY motorsport star Jonathan Moore has been picking up win after win in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB - and he’s set to race at Silverstone later this month.
The teenager has been going up and down the country to take part in the competition - picking up numerous accolades along the way.
His mum, Cheryl Goulding, told the Chronicle it’s been a great year so far for Jonathan.
She said: “After a midseason break, Porsche headed to Knockhill in Fife, Scotland as part of the BTCC support package.
“It’s a very demanding and merciless track known for its high kerbs and undulating nature.
“With a reported 50,000-70,000 people in attendance as well as televised coverage on ITV4, Jonathan qualified on pole for all three races and took lights to flag victories in all three races.
“So far this year Jonathan has broken the record for being the youngest ever race winner in the history of Porsche Sprint Challenge, he has won ten out of the 12 races in class so far this year - bringing home a tally of 11 pole positions, 11 fastest laps, and a clubsport lap record at Knockhill.”
He’ll be racing at the home of British racing Silverstone on September 20 and 21.
Cheryl added: “Jonathan is leading the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB Clubsport Pro category by 36 points from his closest rival and is heading to Silverstone next In September where he will be aiming for another clutch of wins and the opportunity to potentially wrap up the championship early.
“He’ll be racing again at Silverstone and it will be broadcast live as part of the BTCC package on ITV4 on Sunday September 21.”
