SONNYBOY Hughes became Yorkshire champion this week.
The 19-year-old from Darfield won the 60kg senior category.
He took his quarter-final with a unanimous points win then forced stoppages in the semi-final and final.
Sonny – who is also a long distance runner – will now compete in the national quarter-finals in Bridlington in mid-October.
