A nine-year-old girl has been left heartbroken after her beloved pet escaped from a cattery while she was on holiday.
Olivia Claire of Netherfield Croft, Shafton, was in Spain when The Cat's Whiskers, Staincross, rang mum Zena to tell her one of their cats was missing.
Staff said Tom, 18 months, must have dug his way out under a door.
"Olivia is absolutely beside herself. It absolutely ruined the second week of our holiday," said Zena, 39.
"We felt we had to tell her and she was obviously very upset. We've had him since he was seven weeks old from an RSPCA rescue centre.
"I'm hoping someone sees this and we can reunite him with Olivia so there's a happy ending."
Tom's collar had been taken off at the cattery but he has been microchipped.
