YOUNGSTERS across Barnsley are being encouraged to take part in the fire service’s Christmas card competition.
Fire bosses are asking for a festive design that includes at least one Christmas fire safety message.
There are three categories, four to seven years, eight to 11 and 11 to 16.
The winner in each category will win a £50 high street shopping voucher.
A spokesperson said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase creativity while sharing an important message about fire safety at Christmas.
“Christmas is a time for celebration, but it’s also a time when fire risks increase.
“From fairy lights to candles and cooking, simple steps can prevent accidents.
“Your design will help remind everyone to stay safe and enjoy the festive season responsibly.”
