TEENAGE runner Jonson Hughes will be heading to Portugal to represent his country next month.
The Darfield talent, 18, finished fourth in the under 20 cross country race at Liverpool over the weekend.
It has ensured his spot at the European cross country championship on December 13.
His dad Jason said: “Jonson has boxed in the past but he is now focusing on one sport.
“He is training in Leeds and improving all the time and pushing in the right direction.
“He wants to be a full-time runner.”
