UNHAPPY customers who accused a florist of taking deposits before folding have been assured their cash will be returned.

The Potting Shed Florists, which was based at Cannon Hall Museum, concluded its tenancy on September 1.

However, customers complained that cash for Christmas-themed wreath-making classes continued to be taken.

Councillor Robin Franklin, cabinet spokesperson for regeneration and culture, said: “As this was an independent, private business and they are no longer renting space from us, Barnsley Council has no involvement in their operations and does not hold any further details.

“We would encourage the public to contact The Potting Shed directly through public channels or via the information provided on booking confirmations.”

A spokesperson from the florist told the Chronicle: “We’ve been clear with our customers and we’ve contacted them.

“There are one or two who we could not get hold of but but they will receive refunds.”
