Penistone Church are winless in 12 in the NCEL Premier Division after a 4-2 loss at third-bottom Rossington Main.
They are now 16th, three places and six points clear of the two-team relegation zone ahead of a vital game at home to Horbury Town on Saturday.
In Rossington, Penistone were 2-0 down after eight minutes then conceded again in first half injury-time but Nathan Keightley pulled one back before the break.
Rossington made it 4-1 not long after half-time then Reece High got a consolation goal.
Wombwell Town lost 2-0 at home to leaders Liversedge, who netted twice in the first 15 minutes.
They remain bottom, seven points adrift in the relegation zone, and winless in 13.
