MARC Roberts said he gets fans' frustrations after Barnsley lost 3-2 at home to Mansfield - and said that the team's performances are becoming a 'carbon copy' of one another.
Reyes Cleary and Davis Keillor-Dunn made it 2-0 to Barnsley in the opening 13 minutes before Penistone man Louis Reed scored from the penalty spot for Mansfield.
The Stags levelled through Stephen McLaughlin early in the second half before Aaron Lewis won the game late on.
The result leaves Barnsley in ninth, seven points off the play-offs and just four points above the relegation zone.
Roberts told the Chronicle: "It's hard to stand here and talk about it to be honest.
"It seems to be happening every week.
"We've got to learn quickly.
"The mood in the dressing room isn't good.
"Fans won't want to hear it and they're frustrated and they're shouting at the end.
"We get it - I get it.
"I'm walking off and I'm agreeing with them.
"Something needs to change."
Barnsley have conceded 11 goals in the last four league games.
Roberts said: "It's hard to say this but I don't think they cause that many problems within the game as a whole.
"But they score every chance they got there.
"It just seems to be a recurring theme.
"I know I'm a defender and honestly I'm devastated with what's just happened but it's not just the defenders.
"It's the whole team.
"We almost get too carried away and a lapse of concentration here and there and we end up conceding the penalty."
It's a quick turnaround for the Reds as they're set to face Lincoln at Oakwell on Monday evening.
He added: "It's got to be a good thing that we've got a game in two days.
"It's a short period and we have to find a way of marrying the two together - whether it's being good going forward or being a bit more resilient throughout the pitch to stop conceding goals.
"Because at the minute we're almost a recipe for disaster."
