Jon Russell has been loaned from Barnsley to their League One rivals Mansfield Town for the remainder of the season.
The midfielder, who signed in January 2023 and has scored 19 goals in 113 Reds games, is out of contract at the end of the season.
Russell scored 11 goals for Barnsley in 2025, with only Davis Keillor-Dunn netting more, but has not started a league game this season.
He is a regular in the Jamaica side who are due to play a World Cup qualifier in March.
