Barnsley will hope to surprise League One leaders Cardiff City when they visit from 7.45pm on Tuesday.
The Welsh club are four points clear at the top, ten clear in the two automatic promotion places, and 23 ahead of Barnsley.
They are unbeaten in seven with four wins in that sequence.
They had won eight home league games in a row but drew 1-1 at home to fellow top six side Stockport County on Saturday.
The Reds are 15th, nine points off the play-offs and three clear of the relegation zone.
Head coach Conor Hourihane said: “Cardiff are a good side. They have players who have played in the Championship a decent amount of time, some higher than that.
“Stockport got a good result there at the weekend. We’ve done our homework on them and feel we can cause them issues.
“We have to be on top form. We feel we’re in a decent place, unbeaten in three (in the league) and put in good performance against a top side Liverpool (in the FA Cup).
“I feel like in and around our box at the minute and we're looking a little bit more solid. So I think we're to going into this game in a decent place from that point of view. “We need to be good without the ball and, and try and hurt them then with the ball. “We know that it's going to be a decent test for us but one that we're going to be fully ready for.”
After being relegated last year to League One – where they are playing for the first time since 2003 – Cardiff appointed Brian Barry-Murphy, the former Rochdale and Manchester City under 21s manager.
They have the second youngest squad in the division and the second top-scorer Yousef Salech but he came off injured at the weekend.
Barnsley have faced Cardiff 57 times, winning 14 and losing 29.
Since a 4-3 away success in 2016, in which Hourihane played, the Reds are winless in nine meetings.
