A TRIAL date has been scheduled for a pensioner who is accused of murdering a man who went missing six years ago.
Christopher Wright, of Sheffield Road, Hoyland Common, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court last Friday in relation to the murder of Richard Dyson and preventing the lawful and decent burial of a dead body.
Mr Dyson’s remains were found in a property on Broadcarr Road in Hoyland last year and a post-mortem revealed he died as a result of shotgun wounds.
Wright, 72 who was also charged with 27 firearm-related offences, including owning 13 guns and hundreds of rounds of ammunition was remanded in custody ahead of a case management hearing on March 2.
A prospective trial date was pencilled in for June 8 and it is expected to last for eight weeks, a Sheffield Crown Court spokesperson told the Chronicle.
