TALENTED Willliam Fletcher has wowed his way into a Young Champions nomination.

William Fletcher, 12, is no stranger to the stage.

The youngster recently bagged his first professional contract starring in A Christmas Carol at The Crucible Theatre.

Despite his achievements, the young performer hasn’t always had it easy.

In his earlier years, William’s passion for entertainment was misunderstood - with the youngster enduring teasing for his singing.

William has risen above the cruel taunts, working tirelessly to perfect his craft - with a bright future ahead of him.

William has displayed a pride for his community that goes beyond his years.

He is a regular and enthusiastic volunteer for the Darton Ladies’ Group, where he helps raise funds for local community causes.

William also keeps himself and his parents busy with his sporting activities - including cricket and ice hockey.

Debbie Price, owner of Angel Voices Performing Arts Academy and William’s teacher, praised the youngster’s inspirational journey.

She said: “William is a highly valued and much-loved member of our academy, singing workshops and community choir - where he continues to inspire both peers and adults with his work ethic, humility and talent.

“William has recently completed his first professional contract at just 12 years old - an incredible achievement at such a young age.

“His journey to this point has been truly inspiring.

“Despite experiencing bullying because of his singing, he has remained steadfast, courageous, and committed to his passion.

“Beyond his performance achievements, William is also deeply committed to his community.

“He is a regular volunteer with the Darton Ladies’ Group, demonstrating kindness, generosity and a strong sense of social responsibility.”

William’s mum, Amanda Fletcher, added: “His dad and I are proud of him and everything that he does with his performing.

“He’s still outstanding in school and his sporting activities.

“William has said one of the shows he’s performed in particular was his favourite - the dementia friendly show.

“That’s really something for a 12 year old boy to say.

“He said he felt privileged to be involved and it’s such a different environment to the other shows.

“He’s also very involved in his community, he’s part of a Greenotes CIC environmental project.

“He’s always busy and he definitely keeps us all busy too.”
