SIXTEEN swimmers from Borough of Barnsley took part in the first weekend of the Yorkshire County Swimming Championships at John Charles Centre for Sport in Leeds.
Alexander Matze, 14, took a gold medal in the 100m breaststroke.
Daniel Menzer claimed silver in the boys’ 17+ 400m freestyle while he also broke a club record in that event which had stood since 2012.
There was a bronze for Reece Thompson, 12, in the 200m freestyle.
The club recorded 36 top ten finishes.
A club spokesperson said: “The amount of personal bests is testament to the swimmers’ dedication and hard work.
“Back to the pool now as they continue to prepare for the final two weekends of the championships.”
