BARNSLEY Women’s FC won 5-1 at home to second-bottom Stourbridge in the National League Division One Midlands.
The scorers were Ocean Rolandsen, Jemima Jarvis with a penalty, debutant Maddi Green, twice, and Amber Sewell.
They have won their last three games.
That leaves the Reds fourth in the table, 12 points off second place which is a play-off spot.
Manager Craige Richardson said: “We’re on a good run.
“Christmas was a difficult period with players out but we have momentum and confidence now.
“The young players are coming in and it’s pleasing to see.
“Credit to Stourbridge, they kept trying but we were just too strong for them on the day.
“Their ‘keeper has made three outstanding saves at the end which made the scoreline much more respectable.
“We’ve got a week off which will be good.
“We know we can more than compete at this level.
“Our opponents will be looking at our results thinking we’ve turned a corner and we have.”
Barnsley WFC have six league games to play starting at Kidderminster Harriers on March 8.
Before then, Barnsley WFC’s reserves to play on Sunday at Barnsley FC Ladies in the Sheffield and Hallamshire League Cup.
Barnsley FC Ladies re-started in the Sheffield League this season after the team had previously reached the fourth tier, under the umbrella of Barnsley FC who shut them down last summer for financial reasons. They are top of Division Two while Barnsley WFC reserves were top of Division One before losing for the first time this season.
Dearne and District lost 4-0 at home to Brodsworth Welfare.
Penistone Church were beaten 8-1 at home to Brinsworth Whitehill.
