Barnsley MPs are backing a review of the decision to close the children's heart unit at Leeds General Infirmary.
Dan Jarvis and Michael Dugher, who both supported the campaign to keep it open, said it gave hope to families in Barnsley who relied on the specialist unit.
Leeds was one of three earmarked for closure as part of plans to streamline children's heart services in England. It would mean families from Barnsley having to travel to Newcastle or Liverpool for care.
Dan, who met the families of George Huntington, three, of Lundwood, and Daniel Thomas, five, of Mapplewell, said it was a vital service for people in Barnsley.
"I am very pleased the appalling decision to close the children's heart surgery unit in Leeds is to be reviewed,' he said.
