TWO men who are set to face more than 20 charges of sexual abuse allegedly committed against seven Barnsley girls will appear in court next week.

Bawan Harwe and Sharam Muhamadi are alleged to have used the social networking platform, Snapchat, to contact the girls aged between 12 and 16.

The pair - from Iran and Iraq respectively - were charged with a combined 22 offences ranging from rape to false imprisonment.

Harwe, 28, pleaded guilty to one count of rape but has entered no pleas to 16 other charges while Muhamadi, 20, submitted not guilty pleas to five charges.

They will begin their four-week trial at Sheffield Crown Court on Monday.
