A YOUNG Bolton-upon-Dearne boxer with a ‘really bright future’ has gone for gold and bagged a Young Champions nomination for his extraordinary efforts.

Daley Stones’ remarkable dedication to his sport has paid off, with the youngster bringing home gold from the Porto Box Club’s 2026 tournament.

Having just turned 11, Daley has showed determination far beyond his by putting his training first - even missing out on celebrating his birthday properly.

Training at Swinton Amateur Boxing Club, Daley’s team of coaches and the support and camaraderie of his peers have helped the youngster flourish.

It’s safe to say that Daley’s commitment has truly paid off along with the rest of his team, who collectively secured two golds, two silvers and one bronze at the Porto tournament.

Daley started off in white collar gyms then moved over to amateur boxing last September.

Whilst sports is family affair for most young lads, Daley got into boxing completely off his own back and is determined to see the sport through to a high amateur level.

Outside of boxing, Carrfield Primary Academy pupil Daley enjoys playing football and fishing on weekends and after school with his dad, James.
