A BIRDWELL businessman’s company has been named by the Sunday Times as one of the best places to work in the UK.
Enzygo, which is headquartered in Stocksbridge and has offices in Manchester, Belfast, Cambridge, Cardiff along with two sites in Bristol, was one of just three South Yorkshire-based businesses to secure a place on the list, which saw successful applications from businesses operating in 25 different sectors.
Based entirely on feedback from staff, the Sunday Times’ best places to work list compiled data submitted from more than 200,000 employees across the UK, who were asked to rate their employer in six key areas including job satisfaction, empowerment, and wellbeing with businesses receiving an overall rating of 70 per cent or above securing a place on the list.
Enzygo - an environmental consultancy - achieved an overall score of 87 per cent for employee happiness, with 93 per cent of employees saying they had a good relationship with their manager and were treated with respect.
Matt Travis, founder and managing director, said “From the outset we have wanted to build a culture and working environment where staff feel valued, empowered and inspired.
“We all spend a great deal of lives at work and being named as one of the places to work in the UK reflects the positive culture we have worked hard to build.
“In recent years we’ve enjoyed a significant period of growth, something which wouldn’t be possible without the efforts of every single member of staff.
“It’s clear from the incredibly positive feedback we’ve received that we’re building a workplace where staff enjoy coming to work, feel recognised for their contributions, creating an environment where everyone can be their best.”
