BIKE fanatics Lisa and Carl Lloyd geared up for their wedding in typical fashion.
They arrived at St Mary’s church in Wombwell with the support of 20 members on their bikes from the Dearne Valley scooter club.
The bikers followed Lisa from her Hough Lane home in Wombwell and attended church in their leathers and bike gear.
Lisa, 24, said: “I wanted my wedding day to be something that people would talk about and never forget.
“It was certainly strange and everyone keeps saying they have never seen anything like it.
“It was noisy with all the bikes and the vicar probably wasn’t ready for everyone turning up like that. He said it was the noisiest wedding he’d taken. “We joined the club about 18 months ago and it’s like being part of a family. We love it and 48 of us went away last year. It was great to see them all in their gear at the wedding.”
Later that day, Lisa was celebrating again after Carl gave her her wedding present - a new classic Vespa scooter.
“I had no idea and wasn’t expecting anything”, she added.
Carl, also 24, arrived at the wedding in a fire engine, while Lisa turned up in a 4x4 limousine.
The couple honeymooned in Gran Canaria with Lisa’s mum and step-dad Carol and Steve Cartwright, who married the same week.
