OLIVER Rowland is due to race in China for the second time in a fortnight as the Formula E season heads towards a conclusion.

The Penistone man is set to compete in two races in Shanghai over the weekend, two weeks after crashing out in Sanya having led.

Defending champion Rowland, 32, is currently 19 points behind the lead in second after 11 of the 17 races.

Rowland said: “We’ve learnt from what went wrong in Sanya, where we didn’t have the pace in qualifying or the race.

“Shanghai is a very different layout.

“I haven’t stood on the podium there before so I’m hoping to put that right this weekend.

“There’s plenty of overtaking spots on the circuit so qualifying won’t be as important as at other venues. I’m taking it one race at a time in the championship fight, so we’ll give it everything to leave China with strong results.”

After the two races in China, the season is due to finish with double-headers in Tokyo on July 25 and 26 then London on August 15 and 16.
