EVERY Christmas and birthday the family of Tom McManus lay presents on his gravestone. He died three years ago aged 68 and is still dearly missed.

But the presents have begun to go missing.

In the last few months bronze statuettes, keyrings and a teddy bear with an ‘I Love You Granddad’ T-shirt have all been taken from the headstone at Kirk Balk cemetery. A miniature wigwam was snapped.

Mr McManus’s daughter-in-law Lynne Hawkhead said: “This is so upsetting. What kind of person would do this? My mother-in-law goes there every other day to visit him and she's devastated.”

She added a wooden Puerto Rican cheetah went missing from her brother's gravestone. Ian Hawkhead died three years ago aged 40.
