PAUL Smith who lives in East Sussex has contacted Memories in the hope of tracking his Yorkshire ancestry.
Until recently he thought his granddad Austin Clifford Smith was an only child, but he has now discovered he was one of 10.
Research has revealed that the family was spread around Yorkshire, with two of the brothers living in the Barnsley area around 1928.
They were Thomas Smith of 29, Milthorpe Crescent (now demolished) and Sam Wignall Pyrah who was adopted into the family and may have used the name Smith or Pyrah. He lived at 2, Samuel Road, off Rowland Road.
If anyone can help Mr Smith in his research, please contact Kath Parkin, Barnsley Chronicle, 47, Church Street, Barnsley. or 734255.
