Pedal power paid off for this young man who turned 100 on Friday.

Vin Robinson worked as a plasterer for the Hemsworth and Rural District Council for 50 years.

Jumping on his 'Pedal and Pop' moped he would put in the legwork climbing hills to get the job done.

"They all asked me to come back again and that was a feeling that gave me great pleasure," Vin said.

He celebrated with a cake and a card from the Queen at Holly Tree Lodge care home where he is now a resident.

But despite reaching 100, Vin still finds time to do his exercises three times a day.

"I've done them for 20 years at least," he said.
