David Flitcroft has agreed to become Barnsley's manager on a permanent basis after extensive talks with owner Patrick Cryne.
Flitcroft's assistant Micky Mellon and Martin Scott will also remain at Oakwell.
Flitcroft led the Reds to a miraculous survival in the Championship after Keith Hill's departure while he also took them to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
Reds director Barry Taylor told the Chronicle: "This is great news for Barnsley Football Club. David asked the board for certain assurances and we have done our best to meet them. What David and his staff achieved during the second half of the season was incredible and long may that success continue."
