Chris O'Grady says Barnsley's survival on the final day of the season means his desired move from Sheffield Wednesday is closer to happening.
The striker has become a fans' favourite while on loan from the Owls, who also stayed up, and he and Reds boss David Flitcroft have both said they would like to make the move permanent.
O'Grady told the Chronicle: "If I can, I would love to. It helps that we did the job and we are in the Championship.
"It allows the club the extra freedom to do things and I want to stay at this level. Hopefully we can get the manager tied down and all the players that are out of contract tied down so we can keep the same team and if that involves myself then that's good."
