X-FACTOR hopefuls Sweet Rebellion have said they will return next year after being knocked out of the TV talent show.

The five-piece girl band made it to the boot camp stage of the show, in which they had to perform a rehearsed piece to former Westlife manager Louis Walsh.

He thought Sweet Rebellion had a lot of potential but had to ask himself whether he thought they were ready.

Singer Nicola Brear said: “He did that thing where he makes us wait for 20 seconds, then he told us we weren’t through.”

She said the girls were looking forward to trying again next year, when, if they pass the first round, they will face a different judge.

“I think Louis is great but he’s got a very strict ideas about what he likes. He likes boy bands and he knows how to work with them.

“We always wanted to get Simon or Sharon, so hopefully next year we’ll get one of them.”

The band was originally formed four years ago by Nicola, 23, from Dodworth, and Lianne Hibbert, 21, from Ardsley.

They were later joined by Vicky Matthews, 17, from Sheffield. A fourth member left the band and was replaced by Chloe Wright, 17, and Ayeesha Benson, 16, both from Wombwell.
