A police officer was shot in the hand with an air gun during a three-hour stand off with police.
Police were called to Cutty Lane at about 10.30pm yesterday where they found a man in possession of an air gun.
The man was contained on nearby School Street where the gun was fired several times, leading to the officer suffering 'a minor hand injury'.
Trained negotiators arrived at the scene and just after 1.30am today and the man was arrested.
