A keen-eyed Chronicle reader spotted a stolen dog wandering around the streets of Barnsley.
Now thanks to him Molly, a six-year-old white bichon frise, is safely back home.
Her owner Karen Greaves said: "I am so grateful. He said he has seen her walking the street for a few days, but as soon as he saw the story in the Chronicle and realised who she was, he managed to grab hold of her and contacted us.
"I have been so worried about her and so upset, but this is a really happy ending."
Molly had been living with Karen, who runs the Ponderosa Kennels and Cattery in Castleford, since her owner was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Molly and her two pups, along with a male dog called Milo, were all stolen from the rescue centre on June 29.
The other three dogs had all been found and returned to the centre but Molly was still missing and Karen was desperate to find her.
She had been told that Molly had been given to a man living in the Dodworth area by his daughter, but he said the dog had run away days earlier.
Karen said: "I have already got lovely homes lined up for her pups and Molly will stay here with me and I would just like to thank everyone who helped bring her back."
