The grieving sister of a woman whose body was exhumed in an attempt to find out why she died says she intends to complain about the initial investigation into the death.
Sharon Taylor, 34, died in November 2011 and her sister Christine Crossley believes the lack of a police investigation at the time means vital evidence may have been missed.
Sharon's grave in Silkstone churchyard was dug up in October so further tests could be carried out on the body, but an inquest on Monday failed to establish a cause of death.
Mrs Crossley, 50, of Towngate, Silkstone, said she was grateful to the officers who eventually undertook the investigation but thinks more should have been done at the time of the death to rule out the possibility of foul play.
"It's a bit strange when a 34-year-old is alive and kicking one day and the next day she's dead.
"There's always been this nagging question that it wasn't a natural death and I'm not the only person who has thought that.
"I think it's going to end up at the Independent Police Complaints Commission because I think a vital window was missed to put our minds at rest.
"I don't want to start saying nasty things about the police but they missed something there."
Miss Taylor died in Barnsley Hospital after collapsing at her home on Gilroyd Lane, Dodworth.
The decision to exhume the body was made by police and the coroner after Miss Taylor's family raised concerns about how she died at the original inquest in June 2012.
