Gamers in Barnsley can be first in the queue tonight for the long-awaited next instalment of the Call of Duty series.

 

Staff at ASDA's Old Mill Lane store in Barnsley will be on duty at midnight to meet demand for the launch of Call of Duty®: Ghosts.

 

The Xbox and PS3 game franchise that has defined a generation of gaming is promising to be one of the most popular games of the year.

 

Call of Duty fans in Barnsley will get the chance to be first in the queue to experience the long awaited next instalment of the biggest entertainment franchise in the world.

To mark the midnight launch there will also be an in-store competition to win ASDA gift vouchers every hour between 9pm - 1am, with up to £100 an hour to be won. Also for those gamers who queue to pick up their copy in store will receive a free Call of Duty® T-shirt.

 

The new game takes on an intense plot, leaving players on the side of a crippled nation fighting to survive.

The single player campaign will include an entirely new cast of characters in a changed world unlike anything seen in Call of Duty before.

For the first time players will take on the underdog role in a battle to reclaim a fallen nation.

 

The multiplayer mode has been redeveloped to introduce a new 'create-a-soldier' system in which players can personalise their soldier with 9,000 possible combinations and experience seven new multiplayer modes such as cranked, search and rescue and blitz.
