TWO teenagers have been commended by police after rescuing an elderly resident who had stumbled on his own steps.
Inspector Glyn Bates wrote letters to Kimberly Prince, 16, and Laura Clarke, 15, after they saved the man in his eighties from suffering prolonged exposure to the cold and intense shock. He praised them for their actions and thanked them for what they did.
The drama unfolded last Sunday night when the two girls saw the man in distress. He had come out after hearing fireworks close to his home but slipped.
The two girls heard his moans and went to his assistance. They carried the 88 -year- old inside and comforted him and his wife until police arrived half an hour later.
