A REGISTERED blind woman was subjected to a terrifying sexual assault in daylight near the Alhambra shopping centre.
The 57-year-old got off a bus from Rotherham at the stop before the Alhambra roundabout on Sheffield Road on March 15.
As she passed through the underpass she was dragged up steps onto a grassy area and seriously sexually assaulted.
Because it is difficult for the woman to describe the attacker, or even say where the assault occurred, officers are desperate for witnesses to come forward.Police are urging two women and a taxi driver who saw her after the attack to contact them.
