A NINE-YEAR OLD from Barnsley is reaping the rewards for finishing in the top six of the ACU 50cc British Trial Championship.
Matt Whelan’s hard work and effort soon paid off when current sponsors Blueline Taxis, of Barnsley, renewed their sponsorship with him and celebrated by buying him a brand new, top-of-the-range 2007 Sherco 80cc motorbike from trials specialists B and B Motorcycles in Royston.
Talented rider Matt Whelan, of Dodworth, completed all eight rounds of the 50cc British Trial Championship which has taken him travelling all over the country to battle it out against 20 other riders.
Matt, who is a founding member of the Barnsley Trials Club, will soon be putting his new hot wheels to the test when he starts training for next years British Trial Championship which begins in April.
