A THURNSCOE pub landlord has won a national pool tournament in Wales held in memory of his friend.
Steve Webster, 51, of the Butcher's Arms, High Street, entered the three-man team pool tournament with his sons Shane, 31 and Paul, 28.
It was being held in memory of one of Steve's friends, Kenny Cahill, who died recently. Steve met Kenny when they worked together erecting pool tables for competitions.
Steve said: "It was superb to be able to celebrate Kenny's memory and win the tournament too."
Steve has previously played pool for England, and he and his sons fought off around 55 other teams to take home the trophy. They took home a £3,000 prize.
