WOMBWELL High Street toilets are set to be transformed into a hot food takeaway after planning permission was granted this week.
The toilets were bought at auction for £67,000 in July. Now buyer Jamie Robinson has gained approval from the council's planning committee to transform the toilet block to sell food.
According to the planning report, a new glazed shop front would be formed facing towards the market area with bin storage inside the building.
Kitchen and storage areas would be at the rear of the building, facing towards the Horseshoe car park.
The toilets closed in April this year as part of Barnsley Council's budget savings.
