ONE-in-ten households in Barnsley live in fuel poverty.

Michael Dugher, the MP for Barnsley East has vowed his support to end the scandal of cold homes, as new figures show that one-in-ten households live in fuel poverty.

Statistics published by the Department of Energy and Climate Change show that more than10,000 households in Barnsley live in fuel poverty, with nearly 4,000 households in Barnsley East.

The MP has backed plans to make at least five million homes more energy efficient over the next ten years – cutting heat loss and bills for low income families.
