A CRIME and safety group may fold because of a row over a lack of police attendance at its meetings.
The Birdwell, Pilley and Tankersley Crime and Safety Group meets once a month at Birdwell Methodist Church on Sheffield Road.
Police are meant to attend and give updates on issues in the area, such as anti social behaviour, and note residents' concerns but officers have not attended for many months.
A police spokesman said: "Police are aware that the group may be discontinued, but officers remain in contact with its chair to discuss any issues of concern."
