BARNSLEY Animal Rescue Charity (BARC) has been given the best early Christmas present ever - a whopping £10,000.
It is the biggest single donation ever made to the charity which was set up with the pledge to 'never ever put down a healthy dog or cat'.
Animal Friends Insurance has given the £10,000 to BARC as part of its Christmas campaign #PetSanta.
Kerry Flood, manager of the charity's kennels in Wath-upon-Dearne said: "Obviously we are always desperate for more money and the animals always come first."
