DOZENS of kind-hearted friends, neighbours and even strangers shovelled snow to ensure former coach driver Steve Mills could set off on his final journey from his home.
The funeral of the Yorkshire Rose Holidays owner took place on Thursday, but his family were devastated when they were told by funeral directors on Wednesday the cortege would not be able to leave from the 57-year-old's home on Branksome Avenue, Barnsley, because of the snow.
But his son David, 33, was not going to let the snow get in the way - he pulled out a shovel and appealed for helpers on Facebook.
He was surprised to see a total of about 50 helpers turn out.
