A MAN once known as Barnsley's crown prince of crown green bowling has died following a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Raymond Green, of Chapel Street, Bolton-upon-Dearne, was 83.
Raymond, who previously lived in Churchfield Avenue, Mapplewell, represented Mapplewell and North Gawber and Worsbrough Common Crown Green bowling clubs for many years.
He also played for Yorkshire 49 times and was victorious in the All England Crown Green Bowling Championship in 1964.
His funeral details are still being arranged.
