FIRE-FIGHTERS in Barnsley are set to join their colleagues around South Yorkshire in a walk out to be staged next week.

Members of the Fire Brigades Union will go on a 24-hour strike from 7am on Wednesday.

The action is part of a long-running pensions row with the government.

Matt Wrack, FBU general secretary, said: "Fire-fighters are unbelievably angry with the disgraceful actions of this government."
