A WOMBWELL woman has been reunited with some treasured family photos - two years and more than 50 miles away from when she first lost them.
Christine Eyre, 63, from Broomhead Road, lost her camera memory card whilst on a weekend away in Newark in 2013. Now she has had the 147 photos, which include a trip to Paris, a wedding and pictures of her grandchildren, returned to her thanks to the Barnsley Chronicle and the detective work of a kind stranger.
Jan Stevenson found the card outside her home and she set about working out who is belonged to, using clues such as the White Bear pub in the background of a photo to narrow her search down to Barnsley.
The Chronicle put out a photo appeal to see if anyone knew the people featured and Sue Smith, from Newsome Avenue, got in touch to say the photos were from her wedding and that the card must belong to her friend.
